Curriculum Alignment

This section supports A-level and GCSE History courses on the Crusades and the crusader states, where the military orders appear as part of the wider story. It is most useful for the Templars' role in defending Outremer, and less so for papers that do not cover the Crusades. The Templars' banking and their 1307 trial fall outside these specifications and are best read as background.
